Okay, here's the thing: I totally knew I was going to have to step back a little bit once I started school, but I did not intend to take such a long break. You might not have heard from me very much lately, but I can assure you I have been working hard on some new projects that I believe you'll be quite excited for. At least, I am very excited for them.

So the last we left off is Silas and Her Rutabaga. First of all, thank you all so so much. What a great release that turned out to be. I can only hope the momentum continues to build with each new exciting project. Speaking of, I'm working on a few things right now. One of those things happens to be a little bit different.

Picture books are amazing, and I don't plan to ever stop writing them. However, I decided to take the next step into a bit of a longer story. Right now, I'm working on an early reader chapter book. You know, like Junie B. Jones and Katie Kazoo Switcheroo. By the way, huge thanks to Nancy Krulik for following me back on Twitter! Woo!

Anyway, I've been sitting on this story for a while. I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I wanted from this book. It took quite a few rewrites, but I finally did it. At the moment, I'm in search of more beta readers, so if you're at all interested, reach out to my email with your contact information (naomi.liselle.art@gmail.com).

Here's the goods:

Penny Foster is no ordinary third-grader. She has a super special secret that makes her a super special kid. Penny Foster can see MONSTERS! When nearly everyone in Ms. Finney's class seems to have their juice boxes stolen on the first day of school, Penny has a sneaking suspision that the culprit is a monster hiding somewhere in the school! Will Penny solve the case of the missing juice boxes?

If this story sounds familiar to you, you might either be my third grade teacher, Mrs. Davis, or one of the kids made victim to that horrible day.

With all of that said, if this sounds interesting to you, email me with your name and email address. I'll send you the first half of the manuscript (about 750 words) along with a short questionnaire. Once I get that back, I'll send the rest of the book and we can go from there! Thank you in advance!

Whoa! Hi, there! Strange to see me on a Wednesday, right? I couldn't wait, though. I needed to take a short break from getting my shop...
